Happy New Year!
From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. John 1:16 (NLT)
Isn’t that scripture true! Looking back on 2011 I was overwhelmed with God’s goodness to Women’s Ministry of Calvary Chapel Oxnard. His grace and provision were always there. As we look forward to 2012 we can expect no less from our faithful Creator, Sustainer, and Giver of Life. As a Christian, every day is the beginning of a new life for us. Lamentations 3:23-25 says, Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
The Lord is my portion. In the Lord is where I find forgiveness and rest. In the Lord is where I am strengthened to live my life for Him. In the Lord is where the needs of my spirit, soul, and body are met. His compassions fail not and are new every morning!
May this be a year you will experience the true riches of God’s blessings found only in faith in Jesus Christ. Happy, blessed new year!

Bible Study – The new Bible Study is starting Thursday, January 12, at 9-11am or 6:30-8:30pm. Sign-ups are new being taken or just show up and we’ll put you into a discussion group. The study books, “Sermons of the Savior According to Matthew,” are available in the bookstore for $16. Women Discipling Women – Have you ever had a time in your life when the Lord has done something amazing for you and you never want to forget that moment? Sandy and Amy will be sharing memorials they have built to remember the faithfulness of God. Come and glean ideas to build your own memorials. If you have one to share, bring it along to Sandy Fuller’s house on Friday, February 3rd at 6:30pm. Breakfast – Our first breakfast of the year will be on Saturday, February 11, with our own Caryn Trigg as the special speaker. The cost is $7, and we would appreciate you signing up so we know how many to set the table for. Prayer – The Fruitful Vineyards prayer group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 pm. If you have a desire to pray or need prayer, please join us in Room 205 at the church. There is also an all-church prayer time during the first service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at 8:00 in Room 202. MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) –MOPS will be meeting from 9:30 to 12:30 every other Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall. This group is open to any mother of a child from conception through pre-kindergarten. The cost is $25 per semester, and registration is now being taken. Ministries We Offer:
Bible Study – The Women’s Bible Study meets every Thursday at 9:00 am and 6:30 pm with the purpose of deepening our relationship with God and encouraging our spiritual growth through prayer, worship, teaching, and small group fellowship.
Prayer (Isaiah 61:1-4) – Fruitful Vineyards will be meeting for prayer the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at the church in Room 205 from 7-9 pm. This is a prayer ministry for women committed to living holy lives by seeking God under the leading of the Holy Spirit in a setting which values confidentiality and expresses the love and grace of Christ. We look forward to seeing lives changed as we listen to God and carry out His plan. You are welcome to join us for prayer when you can.
MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) – Our MOPS group exists to encourage and strengthen women who are moms to infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children; to let them know that they are not alone during this season of their lives. We provide practical instruction on mothering, as well as opportunities to deepen friendships and to serve one another. MOPS is a place where you, as a mom, can be edified, encouraged, and find support…a place where you are not alone on this journey of mothering. We meet every other Wednesday from September through April.
Women Discipling Women – We meet for the purpose of encouraging one another to experience the joy of the practical application of God’s word in our everyday lives, whether that be in cooking, gardening, decorating or other areas. We share our gifts and abilities that are designed by God while having fellowship in a real-life setting. Check the calendar below for the next event.
Women’s Breakfasts (Isaiah 58:11) – This ministry provides women an opportunity to connect with other women at a breakfast on Saturday morning every other month. It is a time for refreshment and renewal in our relationship with Jesus Christ through hearing the Word of God and witnessing how God is working in the lives of others. We look forward to having you join us.
Annual Retreat –The purpose of our retreat is to withdraw from the world and find seclusion in the Lord. It is a time of refreshment which provides opportunities to build new friendships and strengthen established friendships through fellowship, prayer for one another, breaking bread together, worshipping our living God as one body, and learning about Him through teaching from His Word. Please check back for information on the date of the next retreat.
Christmas Fellowship – We enjoy ushering in the Christmas season with a special women’s fellowship where we are reminded that Christmas starts with Christ. The fellowship is held on the first Saturday in December at 7:00 pm. We hope you will plan to attend.
