| Why "The Shack"? |
|
No, it isn't from a title of a book - we've been calling it "The Shack" a little longer than that. (Intriguing book, though...)
The Shack represents Christ - our Refuge from the storm (Psalm 46:1). It is a place we go to retreat - a place of intimacy with Christ.
The Shack reminds us that Jesus came humbly and without glamour and died on a lowly cross, yet God "...has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen" (1 Corinthians 1:27-28)
The Shack is also conveniently decorated like a beach shack, but that is beside the point!
