Hannah and God E-mail

My Daughter Hannah is 7 months old and she likes to eat and she lets you know about it when she get's hungry.  Something that we've noticed is that when we're feeding her,

if we stop to burp her, or clean her hands and face or switch sides while she is nursing, she starts fussing in a big way.  My wife and I were talking about this yesterday and observed some interesting things:  We have never only given her half a meal and stopped, we've never let her go hungry, and she has always had all of her needs met to the best of our ability.  Yet she cries when we stop feeding her mid meal like she's not going to receive a full feeding and like this is a regular occurrence.  I believe God gives us relationships to learn more about Him so I starting thinking about how we, Gods' children, may do this to Him...........and I realized that we do it all the time.  God has never let me down, never left me in need, and has never given me half a blessing and stopped, and yet we often act like he has.  How many times have we become impatient with God's timing and said "you've brought me this far, why don't you give me this thing now?" "I thought you were going to provide in this way and you haven't yet?" or "I thought I deserved this, why are you withholding this from me?"  But, God's timing is perfect and we never have to worry about Him coming through.  I know I would love for my daughter to trust my wife and I for a full feeding and I'm sure she will in time, but recognizing this in my daughter has made me want to trust God even more.  God is a much better father than I will ever be and I desire my daughters full trust...........how much more God must desire our trust.  How are we not trusting God?

Until Next Time,
Chris
