And the fish was "this BIG", said one of the kids, as he relayed the story to another.  The exciting part was that one of the counselors had just walked up with a camera and . . .

got the shot!  Hallelujah, there is proof!  Will have to post that shot.  (Check back next week.)

I just got back from our 1st Summer Camp for 3rd-6th Graders.  We held it a Lake Cachuma last weekend.  62 kids came along with 25 camp counselors.  I marveled at how God had put together this camp.  Everyone served the kids and one another in such harmony and with Jesus' love.  "Grace changes everything!"  The teachings were great!

We fished, played ball, had our own waterslide and ate smores!  The food was delicious!  Did I mention that we brought our own cooks.  Yum!  We are truely blessed.

We even had an inpromptu lesson, laying down under the stars, about the galaxies, planets and how God made and keeps them all.  What an AMAZING GOD we have!

Of the 25 camp counselors that served, 12 of them were men.  We are greatly blessed to have such great male role models for the Children of Calvary.  In an age when Dads are absent from many homes, it is wonderful to have men devoted to mentoring our boys.  Thank you!

Yes! From one mother of a son with an absent father...THANK YOU! My son had such a blast...and a well needed time away from town, school, chores, and yes, even mom. Haha.

I am so appreciative of the men that serve in our congregation. Of everyone really, but Suzanne is right, we are truly blessed with the men that serve here. Such is not always the case. Thanks guys!

Whats Up With The Emergent Church?

If you're a believer who's also a net-crawler (someone who spends time on the internet) chances are you're already encountered something called the Emergent Church or the Emergent Church Movement. Unless you've done a LOT of reading, you're probably a bit confused about it. That's because there's no set definition for what "emergent" means.
