Deuteronomy – Feb. 23

Go back and read yesterday’s devotional over again.

Sometimes, one day on something isn’t enough. Surely that’s true of yesterday’s devotional.

Ponder this thought: How much should I keep?

The market-driven, consumerist society we dwell in barrages us with the message of “More!” We ought to push back with a consideration of how much is enough? As Christians we SAY things don’t satisfy, but do our spending habits tell a different story? We say we trust God, but does our savings account give the lie to that confession?

Wisdom demands we decide what is a needed lifestyle and prudent savings. Anything God gives us beyond that ought not be used for endlessly plushing up our lives or padding the savings. It ought to be invested in Kingdom works that glorify God.
