30 Oct Luke: Day 51
Double It – Philippians 3:12-16
The Apostle Paul expresses his perspective on his walk with God in these verses. AS you read these verses, remember how prominently God’s grace figures in Paul’s thinking. He knew he could never earn his way into God’s favor. That favor comes by grace alone. Yet Paul went ALL OUT in pursuing God and the things of God.
Compare your own perspective on your walk with God to Paul’s. How does it stack up?
Not what he says in v. 15. It’s an invitation for those who’ve already attained a measure of spiritual maturity to press on even more, doubling that maturity in the days to come. That’s what the phrase “to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule (measure)” means.
How far have you come with Christ? Double it! And when you have, double that. Till He comes . . .
